What's going on, everybody?
Welcome to Sunday, Sunday,
Sunday night CrossFit talk.
I'm really not that in a good mood.
I'm trying to play that on TV.
Why are you not in a good mood, Scott?
Please expand.
Because Hail Mary should be
outlawed in the NFL.
my beloved Chicago Bears,
who should not have won the game.
Let me put that out first.
Somehow their quarterback
came alive in the fourth quarter.
They got ahead because their
defense had kept them in
the game the whole time.
And then with twenty three seconds left,
Jane Daniels hit a couple
of short passes and then
threw a fifty two yard Hail Mary.
To beat my beloved Chicago
Bears with no time remaining.
It was like perfectly caught in his hands.
He just stood there behind
all of the people.
It just went bounce and present.
So the Bears have a lot of
players on their team that
are six foot tall or taller.
Why do they put their five
foot nine guys back there
to knock down the ball?
Oh.
knock it down the poor guy
jumped as high as he could
and all he could do was
touch it and all it did was
tip it up for the guy in
the back of the end zone to
catch it so frustrated but
I have a rookie quarterback
on my team that looks like
he's coming alive,
looks like he's learning a lot,
and hopefully will be very
good very soon.
Just have to get through his
growing pains.
On another note,
you and I made a
last-minute bet that I
wasn't even going to make
bets on my teams anymore
because I kept losing them all.
And so I just decided I
wasn't going to do it.
And you sent me a last-minute bet.
And my Penn State Nittany
Lions went into Madison, Wisconsin,
and beat the Wisconsin Badgers.
I had a good feeling.
I was like, it's at Camp Randall.
We always get this one big
win every year against a
top-ranked opponent.
And I just had a good feeling.
And they started off fine,
and then we lost it.
Yeah,
you had me worried when our
quarterback went out at halftime,
but the backup played as well,
if not better.
And yeah,
super stoked for how they played.
Now,
who are we going to have against Ohio
State next week when that's
going to be tough?
But that game's at home,
so hopefully... Because I
live in Columbus.
Losing that Ohio State game
is awful for me every year.
And Penn state loses it.
Eighty percent of the time.
So I was hoping this year
would be different.
That's going to be a tough game to win.
Yeah.
Although they,
Ohio state looked terrible yesterday.
I didn't,
I didn't get to watch their game.
They play.
So I was at a friend of ours.
They had a twenty fifth
wedding anniversary yesterday.
So I was at their house and
they had the game on.
They looked they Ohio State
looked terrible for the
highest paid team in college football.
They did not live up to that for sure.
I wonder,
I don't know what they played
yesterday afternoon.
Yeah, noon, the noon game.
Lex and I,
I think we were doing like an
obstacle course.
Oh, I have that on my agenda,
my private agenda.
I think that was during the game,
so we didn't get to watch it.
We were playing, having fun.
Julian Iford says Penn State
is winning it this year.
Ohio State sucks.
I'll take that.
But anyway, our bet was death by burpees.
Oh, originally.
No, no.
What was it originally?
Death by assault bike.
Yeah.
But you said, I wish it was burpees.
And I said,
I would take death by burpees
as a substitute.
Yeah.
So at some point this week,
we'll see Carolyn do some
death by burpees.
And I think that's the first
sports bet I've won on this show.
ever so I will take that as
a win because everything
else seems like it's
falling apart um tonight
for me and jamie's probably
smiling because their lions
lost their beat or whatever
the lions killed in their
game and now they're
another game ahead of the bears yeah um
Carolyn,
you mentioned that you were doing
something yesterday,
so I'm going to show that
because I wanted to ask you.
I know you've tried High Rocks this year.
Now are you going American Ninja Warrior?
No.
I do like playground stuff like this,
though.
So is it like a ninja gym or
just like a playground?
It's called obstacle course.
I think it's called pursuit,
but it's like an obstacle course.
There's a bunch of things like that.
Like we probably didn't film like three,
I mean, eighty percent of it.
But I was a little sore this morning.
I hadn't done some of that
stuff in a while.
Can I say?
Yeah.
Lex found it yesterday for
an activity to do.
I did the salmon ladder.
That was fun.
How did that salmon ladder go?
I would often get one side.
so I was like not pulling evenly.
The bar was thicker than the
one I had done before.
Um,
but I didn't want to commit too much to
that one.
I don't want to fall back.
And like, I was like,
I was being cautious in
what I was doing still.
I don't think we're allowed
to use our feet there,
but it just seemed much easier.
I think it was just what,
they call it something from
bar to bar um by kipping
from one to another but
yeah it looks awesome looks
like a good time yeah the
tricycle is my favorite
part just going around racing
Where is this at?
Is this in California?
No, in Toronto.
Oh, okay.
Lex came for the weekend just to visit.
And then we'll be going to
Scotland in a few weeks together.
So she had planned this trip
a while back before.
So do you guys know Michelle Wonky?
she's an american ninja
warrior one of the like
first women way back in the
day um she lives here in
columbus just in the
neighborhood south of me
and she has an american
ninja warrior gym here oh
cool they messaged us after
because we tagged them and
then they're like I'll come
back for more obstacle
course stuff we'll invite
you guys to some more
sessions and we're like
okay I'd like to do it learn a
Yeah, super cool.
There's a lot of technical
stuff that are in that,
like in those challenges.
So lots to learn.
Well, Jamie,
you had a tennis banquet today.
Last year took like seven hours.
Yeah.
I want to say it was like
four hours last year.
It was, let's see,
like three hours and
fifteen minutes this year.
So, I mean, I'm pretty close to on time,
so it wasn't terrible at all.
Yeah.
how'd it go it was good it's
the he does the paper plate
awards um so he like comes
up with the story and draws
a picture on there and so
he goes through he comes up
with a story for every kid
and those are what take a
while and then there's like
a video at the end but yeah
it was good it was a nice
banquet we eat it we go to
msu we eat at brody hall
which is like kind like a
it's just an it's like
thirteen bucks all you can
eat and you there's like
seven different lines that
you can go through you can
get a home style you can
get a pizza you can get a
burger you can get um like
an asian inspired um so
yeah lots of stuff sounds
like it and now senior year
tennis is over
It is over.
Yep.
That was that.
Well, last week was the end of the season.
So, yep.
I think he might try to do
some winter stuff.
I mean, I think he,
he's still interested in sort of playing.
So,
and there's like UTR is universal
tennis rating.
You get a rating and you can
play matches all over.
One of our local clubs
around here has that.
So I'll probably still try
to do some of that.
Corey nails it.
All you can eat right up Jamie's alley.
I've seen that girl.
Lex and I went for
all-you-can-eat sushi tonight.
It was fun.
I'm full.
We did that with my daughter
in Pittsburgh.
It was the best.
So good.
I just let my daughter order
whatever she wanted,
and I just picked off her plate.
I paid for it as well,
but I just let her make the
choices because it was made to order.
I was like, just get what you want,
and I'll eat off of that.
That was pretty cool.
Yes, Michigan State.
Not going to say the little brother.
Well, the game wasn't great yesterday,
but started out pretty good.
Whoops.
Kipping it real says,
you know what I do when I'm
sad about football or anything?
I write a song.
Okay.
So anyway, that's the sports.
It's been a crazy sports week.
The World Series has been unreal.
The Friday night game one
was off the chain with the
Grand Slam and extra
innings to win the game and the Dodgers.
Yeah.
not a big dodgers fan but I
hate the yankees so uh
rooting la at this point um
and then what they won last
night which was pretty cool
uh the new york liberty
right after we got off the
air it was so close when we
were on the air and it went
into overtime when we got
off the air and then what a
finish uh every game was
tight off that game could
have went that series could
have went ten games and
still been entertaining
Yeah,
next year they changed the playoff
format to go to seven games
for the finals.
That'll be much better.
Yeah.
But college football's been
insane this year.
Everything's been so good.
it's all going to like,
we have everything all at once right now.
And then now WNBA is over.
Baseball is going to be over in a week.
Things are going to start
going by the wayside and
then we'll have less to watch.
Hopefully it stays,
stays fun throughout the
rest of the year.
So we're going to start off today's show,
the CrossFit part,
with just a couple quick announcements.
First one is Kelly Baker,
Kelly Baker Shirley,
a big friend of the show.
She was a part of All Access,
which Carolyn was a part of last season.
She announced this week that
she is pregnant with a little girl.
And she retired or stepped
back from the sport this
past season to start a family.
So the fact that that happened was really,
really cool.
And I texted her Friday and
had a little conversation.
And she's so stoked.
It's so cool that this happened for them.
I love the little video she
put out with her.
you know, going through it all,
trying to get pregnant and
then calling her sister and
mom and everyone,
and then getting together.
I was very cute video.
Um, yeah,
the video going through it all
and all the shots and the,
you could see the pain on her face,
what she was doing to have
the kid and her husband that is a doctor.
So the fact that he could
administer those shots for her, um,
that was really cool.
So, uh, and Zach is awesome.
So I know CrossFit is saying
that he outkicked his coverage with Kelly,
but Zach's a great, great guy.
Um, super smart, um,
and really fun to talk to.
He's, he's just an awesome, awesome guy.
Yeah.
I'm sure they would both say
they both lucked out.
Yeah.
I mean, he is a doctor.
Right.
Exactly.
So.
Yeah, yeah.
So that was announced.
And then CrossFit announced
their new YouTube training channel,
I think a couple weeks ago,
but really started
activating it this week.
um they've done uh some
videos they've done some
lives I caught the uh
nicole carroll uh I just
saw her at an affiliate
gathering she's irish yeah
is it denise denise yeah
yeah so I watched their
live it was so good so good um
I watched the high school
one that talked about
sports-specific training
and CrossFit because that
one interested me for the topic.
That was good as well.
I watched the one with Chuck Carr as well.
And there was one other one
that I was going to try to
go back and watch.
But yeah, they've been good.
Yeah.
I know...
there was a, to be a pro coach, like to,
for elite athletes.
Yeah.
I caught a little bit of that one.
I didn't,
I wasn't able to get the whole
way through, but that was Adrian Conway.
And, um, uh, gosh,
I am so brain dead after this hail Mary.
Um, uh, Justin Madaris is coach Adams.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Two of them did that.
Um,
the little bit I caught was really good.
I just didn't get to, uh,
watch the whole thing.
They have, like Craig said here,
they have a lot,
a lot of movement videos
that got released as well
as like scaling different movements.
Like they have scales for
wall walks and pistols and
variations of different things.
So a huge movement library,
we can call it.
that they've added to the
YouTube channel so that you
should be able to just search a movement.
And now hopefully CrossFit
comes out like that YouTube
channel starts coming out
first for people that are
searching those videos and technique.
I did notice the dumbbell
box step up was one of the
movements they added.
That might've been like the
first one that came up.
Yeah.
Might've been about five months too late.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Uh, but yeah, that would have, uh, uh,
everybody keeps bringing up
the hail Mary salt in the wound guys.
Come on, let me get on with the show.
All right.
So let's talk about some
qualifiers that have been
going on this week.
Um, what a Palooza qualifiers happened.
The second part of them had
happened this week and we
have the leaderboard from the first part.
So I can pull up the
leaderboard from the first part,
and then we'll talk about
the workouts for the second part.
Yeah, the leaderboard gets closed, I think,
tomorrow night at eight p.m.
And then the video review after that.
And then here comes the teams of three,
I think, soon that will start.
So this is the men elite to RX.
Not a lot of big names in this part.
um leonel franco but if you
look at who gets the invite
and can bypass the
qualifier I think it's like
the top seven or eight from
last year's waterpalooza
you have all of the
crossfit games athletes
from this year that get
invited um so it's normally
normal like it's normal to
not see as many top games
athletes I guess on the
leaderboard um because a
lot of them do have the
opportunity to bypass this
Is this the leaderboard right now?
This is the leaderboard as
it stands right now.
Yeah,
so that'll get shifted also because
there's scores that are
already in from this week right now.
So those scores are going
ahead and pushing back some
of the people that were leading last week,
if I were to assume.
Oh,
this isn't a hidden leaderboard until
the close?
If you go out to Alex Katoulis,
I think these names are
starting to be the ones I
haven't posted for week two.
If you go back up a little bit,
I think it was the Italian
guy or something.
Some of these are having
their fourth score is in or
their fifth score.
That's why it's not up to
date in terms of what it was last week.
Nick Matthews, the first one without
The fourth score.
No, there's someone there.
Pedro Martins.
Yeah, I think Pedro Martins was in first,
actually.
Then possibly Nick Matthews.
He's the first one without a
fourth workout.
And then you'll start
getting people in between,
like you're seeing George Sterner.
He was a teen athlete back then,
wasn't he?
Or am I wrong thinking that?
George Sterner.
And then that's a lot of them down here.
Okay, so we will not do the leaderboards.
What was... I think on the female side,
it was the Irish...
teenager that was really
good um lucy we gotta go
yeah lucy campbell is also
on the leaderboard she just
had a tough lifting wad but
she crushed the other two
workouts she was just
outside the cut line um
yeah there's there's a few
good names I feel like the
field might be I recognize
more of the female side
names than the men's side
but it could be because I
have a bias there um
Um,
so here is the next two workouts that
were due this week.
Indie workout for you did this Carolyn?
No, I did not.
Okay.
So this was four times, ten, ten, twenty,
thirty, forty,
fifty wall balls and then
five by fifty foot shuttle
runs after each round.
I like the ascending reps.
You're getting that Karen workout with,
you know, some running,
but not so much running
either that you're just
doing a bunch of shuttle runs.
The best would be unbroken.
Yeah.
The Indy number five was
beginning on an eight minute clock,
two rounds, eighteen deadlifts,
eighteen pull ups
immediately into three
rounds of twelve deadlifts,
twelve chest to bar.
If completed before eight minutes,
add four minutes and
proceed to four rounds of nine deadlifts,
nine bar muscle-ups,
immediately into an AMRAP
of three deadlifts and
three burpee bar muscle-ups.
I love that one.
I like that one.
I would love that one.
I did try it,
but that would be a very good
workout for me.
That seems right up your alley.
Yep, very much.
Pulling gymnastics and deadlift,
that's really good.
The weight on that is three-fifteen,
two-twenty-five.
Oh, it goes up.
It starts at one-thirty-five, ninety-five.
One-eighty-five, one-twenty-five.
Two-twenty-five, one-fifty-five.
Then three-fifteen, two-twenty-five.
That's a good workout.
I like that.
And then once those two are done,
they'll be entered on the
leaderboard and the
leaderboard will finalize
at tomorrow night.
They're off to be in by tomorrow night.
Yeah.
It reminds me a little bit of, um,
fittest of the coasts, final workout,
just jump rope instead of deadlift.
Cause that was pull-ups
three rounds for pull-ups,
two rounds of chest bar,
one round of bar muscle ups.
Well, that was my next pull up for, um,
cause I know you've been
doing fittest of the coast.
Sure have.
Did you see my score?
I have not.
Is there a leaderboard on the web?
Yeah.
Okay.
What is the qualifier done for that one?
Like, what do you mean?
Is the qualifier done for it?
So that leaderboard will close Tuesday.
So the workout that I just said,
the one with the pull-ups, chest part,
that one's due Tuesday.
Okay.
There's one more week of it?
This is the last week.
This is the last workout.
It's been one workout a week.
Just like the Open.
I would not like this one.
No.
You wouldn't have liked the double-unders.
Look at those double-unders.
No way.
It was a good workout.
At least it would be paired
with the strength of mine,
but it wouldn't matter.
It's not enough of the gymnastics.
I would get crushed in this.
The masters for this was,
it was way too scaled.
Um,
I honestly don't know why thirty five
to at least forty five
wasn't doing this workout.
They did like ninety less
jump rope and thirty less
pull-ups.
Um, it was essentially a sprint.
And I mean, it just, it goes back to like,
this is why the masters
groups are not improving their fitness,
especially their gymnastics, dense sets,
because they keep scaling things.
And like people can skate by
on these workouts that, um,
I mean,
what you want to be able to do is
do fifteen unbroken bar
muscle ups at the end.
That's how you're going to
win this workout.
And it was just it was just
a little I feel like a
little bit too easy in the
thirty five and up category.
They just keep pushing heavy
weights and don't push enough gymnastics,
dense sets.
But we'll see the scores on that one.
Yeah,
last week's I crushed last week's
workout.
I was like four reps behind
Taylor Williamson.
So she got.
I got three hundred sixty five.
I got three hundred sixty one.
It was the total of our workout.
Here is the men's top score so far,
fittest to the coast.
Is your leaderboard hidden?
It is.
OK, so are you like that?
Do you think you think that
the open should have a
hidden leaderboard until
like the release on the Monday?
Or would that just be a shit
show of fake scores on the
Monday and problems with people?
Because, I mean, throughout the Open,
when you start seeing scores, you're like,
okay,
this is not a real score out of there.
Right.
You start cleaning up the leaderboard.
Do you think that the Open could ever –
I don't know.
Like in one hand,
I think it may keep people
slightly more honest.
Like you aren't seeing,
you aren't seeing like the
score that you need to try
to beat now or what,
but would it also like,
I'm trying to think,
could somebody like not
know what a good score is
and just do something like
absolutely ridiculous, like almost cheat,
like too much and put in, but I,
I guess those would be like
easily identifiable just
like they already are.
Um,
know I yeah I think keeping
it private until monday
wouldn't necessarily be a
bad idea but yeah this it
is private until I've been
devil's advocate to that
whole thing but maybe let's
get to that when we talk
about what the season
should look like a little
bit later um so this is the
men's leaderboard for
fittest to the coast um
I know some of these names
from semi-finals.
Um, my coach at Polaris is in third.
Nice.
Uh, so that's Alexander majors.
Um,
so that's pretty cool seeing him there.
Yeah.
I didn't even know that till
I pulled this up.
Uh, the pro RX female, um,
McKenna insulin that's page.
Some ends his training partner,
Sabrina Taylor.
Taylor,
Elena Pomerisi was part of our all
access coverage last year.
Caroline Klutz.
Are you on this leaderboard?
I am not on this leaderboard.
I probably should have signed up for this,
but are people able to do
both then leaderboards?
Like you said that you're
right behind Taylor.
Is that,
are you just comparing to the
individual that workout?
Okay.
I was just looking at that
workout score last.
I don't know how old she is, but.
Um,
so we did the same workout because I'm
doing the pro team.
Gotcha.
So individual or pro team.
Correct.
Are you not doing masters?
Correct.
It's because it's different
workouts and I'm not,
I wasn't trying to mess around with that.
It's not, it's different.
And like I said,
like I would have to do
each workout twice because
last week's would have been
lighter weights.
This week's would have been
less jump rope.
So I had to do the workout
two times and I was not
messing around with that.
So who is your team?
Blackout or get out.
We're in twelve.
How many qualify?
Sixteen.
Okay.
Who is your teammate?
Haley.
Oh, is she back?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
That's not us.
That's thirteen.
That is black sheep.
There you go.
Okay.
So you guys are back to training together?
Mm-hmm.
That's awesome.
Yep.
Um, yeah, this, this I've heard,
this is a great event.
I tried to go do media there
last year and was denied.
So I don't know.
Um, I may try to go back again,
but have you enjoyed the qualifier?
Has it been,
so sometimes qualifiers are an
interruption to training
and sometimes that you can
fit them into training.
Yeah.
What about the Wadapalooza
ones you could fit into training?
So I prefer the way
Wadapalooza is two weeks, three,
three or four workouts,
or I think it was only two
workouts this week, but yeah,
like you get it and it's like,
I kind of hate the ones is
as much as like, you say,
like you would have even more time.
Like the ones that I think,
I think legends gave you
like three or four weeks for four,
four workouts or something.
It was absolutely ridiculous.
Then you're just like, sure.
You could fit that in anywhere,
but you're also like,
that's when people are doing
them three times each, you know,
like it's just way too,
way too much strategy going into it.
And like, I just like get the workout,
do it on a Friday and a Saturday,
submit the scores, go, um, this, this,
I would say, yeah, it's, it's,
you just kind of do it on
like either a Friday or a
Tuesday you pick, um,
and go about your training.
I've been not trying to like,
I'm trying to like,
just keep my training exactly the same.
So I did
I did the throw down workout
for training think tank on Thursday,
which was sixty burpee box
jump over thirty bar muscle ups.
And then I did this workout the next day.
So, like,
I did a shit ton of bar muscle ups.
But that's fine.
Like, that doesn't bother me.
Could I have had a better
score maybe if I hadn't
done the thirty bar muscle
ups the day before?
Which sucked because then I
saw it kill Taylor and I was like,
I want to do that.
But I was like,
I can't do bar muscle ups
for a third day in a row.
I was like, I love that workout.
So the last thing we'll talk about,
and I don't have this in the notes,
but Patrick just got back
from Germany from the Oslo Throwdown.
Great event at an amazing venue.
Vendor Village was packed.
Over a thousand athletes competed.
And I know on the elite teams, my girl,
Mathilde Garnes,
and her partner won that event.
I can't remember his name offhand,
but I know they won.
So super happy for her.
And later Patrick talks
about Kristen Holta was
back on the competition
floor and it's always fun
to see her back out there.
She's just a legend and super stoked.
Anytime we get a chance to see her,
her out there.
She's incredible.
Matilde's partner is Heinrich.
So, yeah.
I saw a picture on her
Instagram of them kissing as they run.
It was exciting to see that.
CrossFit's killing it in Europe, right?
And maybe they're doing some
things that we're not doing well here.
And that's why.
So Rogue have made a few
announcements this week.
They announced who all the
legends are going to be.
Pretty much the same as all
the other years.
And it's always good to see them.
But I'm going to pull up a picture.
This was early in the week.
We talked about it earlier
this week on another show.
But our very own Carolyn Prevost
Got her picture put up by
Rogue traversing this very
long horizontal pegboard.
So I don't want to ask you
any specifics about this
other than what is easier,
the rings to the pegs in
the jungle gym that you did
earlier in this show or this?
They're very different.
hard to like it was funny
because there was there was
like a pegboard that I
could have done but there
was no pegs there at the
place they're just very
different um yeah it's not
it's not really the same
thing because you're having
I was having to go up on
this uh obstacle course
that I was doing with the
rings and then across and
then back down um it's not
the same but and just so
the audience is aware
The reason I'm not asking
her is because if you've
watched the show for any
length of time at all,
Carolyn is very into the
integrity of the sport.
And anything she knows about
something that's going to
be in a competition,
she will keep to herself.
And we as a show will respect that.
So even though she's done this,
that's why I cannot ask her
about it because she
believes in the integrity
of the sport and would
never do anything to break
that confidence.
that Katie and Bill
Hunnegiver have in her to
allow like I've had I've
had a few athletes reach
out for tips on it and I
like I can't give any
specific and it's like this
is the reason why it's
being released early so
people can figure it out
and practice like it's not
me to give anything um like
it's an honor for me to get
chosen to like to have
Rogue trust me to test the
workouts so I don't
want to ever jeopardize
anything like that.
And yeah,
having a fair competition is
extremely important to me as an athlete.
I hate when there's leaks, um,
or people that know things
and it's just not fair.
So I would never want to be
that person that creates a
competition that's just not fair.
So yeah, I can't talk about anything,
but it's there for people to see.
And, um,
I've already seen that some people have,
um, been playing around with it.
I think Emma McQuaid posted like
her attempt of it.
Um, she had it mounted to her rig.
Um,
if you go to most like Ninja warrior
places,
I feel like they would have some
sort of horizontal pegboard to try.
Um, it's not gonna be the exact holes or,
but it's, you know, they,
they have a couple of weeks to practice.
Yeah.
It'll make a big difference
to have touches on it for sure.
I did not get that.
Um,
CrossFit says,
I assumed Rogue only had
deadlift content of Carolyn.
Yeah, they also says,
high school wrestling rooms
always had these.
Cool.
And they also...
If you guys remember,
I did a show with Hattie
Cano where she was training in Bali.
During that time,
she went to Elphitt in Egypt,
and they had these in competition there.
They were not this long.
Not this long at all.
But she talked about it,
and she actually made up a
lot of ground on this event
because a lot of people struggled.
So...
So not the first time it's being used,
but definitely the first time at this.
Yeah.
I mean,
if they struggle with these level
of athletes though.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I feel like people have been
talking about this movement
for a couple of years now
after the Egypt one for sure.
Or the outfit.
What was it called?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And to see, you know,
the top athletes in the
sport get to do it.
It'll be, it'll be good.
Well,
and what's even to be better is
they've also announced
they're bringing back the
premium streaming package,
which I took part in last year.
And they say it's going to
be better this year.
They're adding more angles, more cameras,
and more stuff.
Yeah.
If you did not try this out last year,
their premium stream,
and you're not going to be in Scotland,
it is worth every cent of
the twenty five dollars.
You get to pick the angle
you want to watch.
So when we're always
complaining about how the
stream only shows the same
two athletes during an event,
it's your choice to move
the camera to another angle
and watch that with this coverage.
you also get to pick between
the traditional broadcast
and the tailgate broadcast
which is um last year was
hosted by pat sherwood and
he had guests like josh
bridges rich froning jason
kalipa annie thor's
daughter katrin david's
daughter and they gave their input
yeah into the event the best
was josh because he's the
one that um did the
programming for the event
so he could give his input
tell stories about what
katie made him switch what
katie said no to um things
like that which made it
really really interesting
is it josh and chris again
this year helping program
josh chris and katie yeah yeah cool
Yeah.
Uh,
Craig echoes premium coverage was great
last year.
Uh, so it was, and it does, uh,
it is kind of a man in cast vibe.
Um,
they'd pay less attention to the action
on the floor, uh,
and just kind of talk about
overarching things about it.
Now, if something amazing happens,
they definitely like jump into that.
Um,
But it just gives you an
alternative so you're not
listening to the same voice
the entire weekend.
I bounced around a little
bit back and forth.
It was...
Why not make the premium
coverage level the coverage?
Because they're charging
twenty five dollars for it.
It probably helps them recoup some funds.
If it keeps growing,
you give one version for free.
Anybody can watch and not pay a cent.
And you have the premium
coverage helps you kind of
offset the cost of the streaming.
I think it's a brilliant idea.
the NFL does it like, you know,
local channels show games every week.
If you don't want to watch
the Cleveland Browns or
Cincinnati Bengals here in Columbus,
you have an option to buy a
package that allows you to see more,
you know,
and they do that for all sports now.
Right.
Yeah.
It's been bigger and bigger
and you can rewatch it after too.
If you like watch the one coverage,
like you can rewatch the,
the premium one another time too.
Right.
I think you had a certain date last time,
right?
Where you could watch all.
So the one difference is last year,
you could not rewind the
premium coverage.
Okay.
This year you can.
Okay.
That's a good addition then.
And then it, when the event was over,
you could then go back and
watch replays of it all.
Great.
But this,
this year they're allowing that
from the start now.
And I think it's because
they're in Europe and some
of the events are going to
start at five in the
morning because the premium
coverage is not just CrossFit.
It's the strong man stuff too.
So,
and they have strong men come into the
tailgate and do stuff as well.
And they have a strong woman
this year too.
They do.
Yeah.
Yep.
And I know the strong man
schedule has been released
and some of those events
start five AM Eastern time
here in the States.
They haven't announced yet
anything on the schedule
for strong women or CrossFit yet?
All the strong sports, men and women,
have been announced.
It's just the CrossFit
that's not announced.
Yeah,
and I feel like Spin put out an
anticipated timeline with those breaks.
It looked pretty legit.
Spin's just been finding some
some diamonds lately always
yeah he works hard he's a
detective yeah I uh I
talked to him this week
because I I asked him for
permission for some stuff
uh just to be clear on some
things so um with that
we'll get into the next
piece of news um two more
positive tests in the
masters group sean ramirez uh second time
Two and two.
He would test a positive for
dihydroxy LGD-LGD-LGD-LGD-LGD-LGD.
I went,
if I'm going to know about steroids,
I go to Hiller's channel
because the man knows more
about steroids than anybody I know.
Apparently this stuff is
like the no joke steroid.
Like it is way more powerful
than the GW zero one five one six.
This stuff is like serious
shit that Murmure has got caught with.
Um, disappointing, but not surprised.
Very, very.
And then Jonathan Adele
tested positive for a variety of things.
Anastrozole exogenous
steroids X and metabolites
of GW five Oh one, five, one, six,
the typical one that everybody gets,
but he tried everything apparently.
So, um,
They both tested positive.
With that,
that brings us to three total in
the Masters division.
What is funny is this week
on the episode eight of the
behind the scenes of the
Masters CrossFit Games,
it was not even planned.
It was due to have all three
of their interviews show up this week.
So I do have a trailer.
This comes out tomorrow at
twelve thirty p.m.
Eastern Time.
I'm going to play the
trailer real quick because not only that,
on on a positive note,
a lot of the big names of the sport.
Like I tried to interview
everybody and anybody,
regardless of what their
place was or anything to
get a variety of takes from the weekend.
But it also happens that
episode eight is the standard.
Only the thirty five to
fifty four year olds did that event.
So it reduced the number of
people like in the warmup area.
So a lot of the big names of
the sport are in this episode,
as well as the three who popped.
So I just have a little clip
to preview tomorrow's episode.
Here we go.
Watch the original,
the first game that was at
original Reebok CrossFit club.
Still wearing them, still represent.
What's going on, man?
Ah, really good.
So you showed your hat.
Yeah, to be faster.
To be faster?
Yeah, in the run, but no, no.
So Will, last time I saw you,
you were laying in the back
at the Syndicate Crown with
a bunch of ice.
Oh, sure, yeah.
You were able to make it back?
Yeah, yeah, we...
we committed right when the
invites came out to this
but I didn't really think
that I was going to be able
to do it I just wanted to
kind of give myself the
option in case rehab and
everything went well so uh
it's been a while since we
went back on the floor oh
yeah uh feels like riding a
bike my friend
Yeah, same old stuff.
Nerves are the same.
It's a little bit different.
You know, it's a little less serious.
It's more fun, I'd say.
Say it again.
I'm kidding.
Do you want to ask me?
We'll take it.
We've been to a bunch of these.
How's this one different?
Oh my god.
I'm competing against giants.
The guys that are closest to
me are this tall.
They're huge giant men.
Jamie, I'm going to walk with you.
How was it?
You were moving on the snatches.
I needed to.
It was like everyone started catching me.
Yeah.
I'm not sure if it's first
thing in the morning, middle morning,
afternoon, night.
There's no good time to do the standard.
Never.
Never a good time to do the standard.
I love dancing.
To be back out here with all
these guys is a long time
awaited and it feels good.
It feels right.
Back where you're supposed to be.
Back where I'm supposed to be.
Pretty good weekend so far.
Yeah.
So it's in first place for the last event.
Yes, sir.
What are the nerves like?
No nerves.
He's here to send it.
That is why I love that.
That's amazing.
That those are just cuts of
their interviews.
When you see the full thing, they look,
it is cringy.
Maybe he should,
maybe he should have been
more nervous about the drug
tests because he wasn't nervous about the,
the comp.
No.
Yeah.
It is.
When you see the full interviews with them,
it is so cringy because they talk like,
like they have the world by the tail.
Um,
And the Ramirez one is the worst.
So I'm surprised that this
is the first time that we
have an athlete that is
testing positive for the second time.
And we're giving another four years,
right?
At this point,
it should be more severe the second time.
I don't know why it has to be the same.
It should be, you know what?
You've done it once, four years.
You've done it twice.
You're done.
Yes.
You're done.
Like, that's it.
Yep.
I don't know why it's
another same sentence.
Yeah.
I mean,
if he tries to come back in four years,
no one's going to respect that guy.
You're going to have no trust for him.
Not only is it a second time,
but if Hiller's correct,
he has upped the level of
the stuff he took.
Every sport is a
a scaled up suspension, the more you do it,
the longer the suspension becomes.
I agree.
As everybody in the,
is saying lifetime ban.
You're done.
That's it for CrossFit sanctioned events.
Do you,
if other competitions want to host
you and accept you that's on them,
but if CrossFit sanctioned events,
like that's it.
Second time.
Totally agree.
Or at least it's like eight years or,
you know, something that's significant.
Or it has more penalties for
repeat offenders.
Yeah.
I was very,
very surprised that it was the
same thing.
Did it, wait,
did it say four years or did
it just say that he popped?
Um, well,
Sean's has not come out cause
he's appealing it again.
But the other two are past
appeals and they both have
a four year ban so it's not
official that it's a four year ban,
I guess,
I shouldn't have put that in
there like that, but.
yeah.
yeah.
But here's the thing, right?
There's people like Jamie
and eighty percent of the
Masters field who are
getting discouraged and
don't even want to go
compete because why compete
if I'm at an unfair advantage?
Yep.
So if you're doing it twice,
see you in the Masters division.
Yeah.
That sport can't handle it.
having the threat of
cheaters all the time yeah
I don't know it's just it's
a joke at this point I just
and I feel like everyone
thinks that and it's sad
because everyone's like
well everyone's doing it
well everyone isn't doing
it but yeah there's a quite
a few that are making it
embarrassing what did
camille's husband say
what's his name um thunder
bro yeah uh lipson dave so
he made a comment it
that don't,
who wants to see a boring
natural competition?
Let the people up their T to
manageable levels and let's
see a good competition.
Well, that's not what's happening.
The stuff that these people
are taking GW five Oh one
five six is not testosterone.
It's not for no T right.
The stuff that,
that Ramirez took as
apparently a couple steps
above that in severity and effectiveness.
That is not for low T.
But there's a lot of,
I'm going to say male
masters that are taking
testosterone within
whatever range that they're allowed.
And like Hiller says,
like they can pass the,
the test and it's a big advantage.
Like there's just no way to
really catch that.
And that's,
that's the frustrating part too.
Um, but yeah, I,
Yeah.
I don't know what you do about that.
Cause you, I, yeah,
it sounds like you can't
test that unless you were
to do like a. An expensive test.
Yeah.
Which is never going to happen.
But then you're testing less people.
Right.
Like, I mean,
I was glad that they at least
tested the top five.
Um,
it would be nice to test a few at
randoms within each division.
Like let's say three at randoms.
Yeah.
Well, as a top five.
Yeah.
Um,
I think what happened this
year is and we kind of
talked about that on a chat
we did but I think Legends
is never tested the Masters
split off from the games
and there were people that
thought this is my shot to
do whatever I want and
succeed and so I'm going to
give it a shot because
they're probably not going to test
And then got there and went, oh, shit.
Yep.
I mean,
Jonathan Adele is not even appealing.
Right.
No.
During the competition,
when I saw him compete,
I literally sent his story to Lex.
And I was like,
look at this guy's back in
the forty to forty five,
forty to forty four.
I was like, this is not natural.
Like,
there's like the way his body was like.
I was like, this is.
Like,
it was so obvious and I'd never heard
of him.
And I was like, this is bad look.
Like, you could just tell.
It was... It's sad because, like,
he was so obvious.
But it's good, like...
some of the, like those,
like Rudy is getting
vindicated because it's come out,
but there's as obvious as he was,
there are other people that
are that obvious that are
never going to pop.
And it's frustrating as all
hell for someone.
And then there's people that
are less obvious that are
cheating as well.
So you just,
you just can't physically tell,
but there's cheating, but it's hard.
So I talked to Lynette earlier this week,
Lynette Berger, who is Rudy's wife.
vindication, man, you know,
he finished fourth,
he moves up to a podium spot,
but it doesn't happen at the event.
He doesn't get the metal,
like put around his,
it's the whole Pat Velner,
Ricky Gerard thing, right?
Like it happens a couple of
months later and what he's
going to get it in the mail.
Yeah, you lose your moment,
you lose your sponsorship
opportunity while you were
right off the... I mean,
not that there's as many
sponsorship opportunities
in the... But he is one of
the few that does get sponsors.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
There's some coverage that
you would have gotten,
maybe some interviews after the games.
A lot of missed opportunities.
It's just too bad.
They're just filled with mixed emotions.
And I think it's like,
why couldn't this have been
handled ahead of time?
What are you going to do ahead of time?
I understand we thought
everyone thought he was obvious.
There's other people
everyone thought was obvious.
I would be thrilled right
now if I was Rudy.
I'm just going to sit here
and salt for my fourth place.
We know, Jamie.
And we've all talked about that.
And the point is that... We
know what you deserve, Jamie.
We know.
We got you.
I think the difference is
Rudy has two gold medals, right?
For him,
it's mixed emotions because he's
had a taste of it.
You have never had a taste of a medal.
You would love that thing
mailed to you and
vindicated that someone was
called a cheater out of you.
I get it.
Different perspectives from
different athletes.
Just like there are people
at the games who are just
happy to be there and
others who want to win.
John Young says I fully
expect my back to be like
that when I'm forty Carolyn
and third in my heart Jamie
I saw you in person John
you're bigger than I
thought my muscular he's
bigger than I thought he'd
be yeah he's jacked he's
taller than I thought he'd be too so yeah
So yeah, check that out tomorrow.
You'll get the full bit.
The clung and the crash is
different in the full episode.
I made that up for the trailer.
The full episode is done a
little bit different,
but still just as dramatic.
Should be an exciting one.
Yeah.
And like I said,
all the big names are in this one.
You saw Jamie.
I finally make one.
You were in another one as well.
I don't think so.
I don't think I've been in any.
Facts.
I know you were.
And you're in one of the
ones coming up too.
So...
yeah so check that out
tomorrow at twelve thirty
p.m eastern time um I left
the line out where jamie
talks about everything
going to in her workout um
but that's really funny so
you have to check out the
full episode for that so
the the next thing we're
going to talk about and
probably the last thing for
the night is there's a
bunch of rumors out there
A bunch of rumors about that
CrossFit is going to go fully online.
That is one rumor until you
get to the CrossFit Games.
There is another rumor that
there are companies or
entities wanting to compete
against the CrossFit Games
at the same time.
spin found a website I was
able to pull it up as well
where dubai has a lot of
information about a season
I talked to jenny from
dense updates she because
she reached out to dubai
okay dubai said that they
never sold that um domain
name to anybody else but
it's fake news interesting
But why would you say you
didn't sell it to anybody else?
Anyway,
so they're all rumors and I have no
facts.
So what I wanted to kind of
twist this into is one, is it feasible?
Is it feasible that another
entity could put something
together that would
legitimately compete
against the CrossFit Games?
Other than Rogue, no.
I don't think rogue at this
point wants to compete against.
I mean,
people in Dubai would have the
money to do it.
Like you see,
you see soccer players going there.
You see golf,
like there's different
opportunities in Dubai that, I mean,
they would have the funding to generate,
to do something.
Now,
I don't know if they would call it
CrossFit, like,
like they're not affiliated with CrossFit,
but I can see like
different opportunities.
people trying and this is an
opportunity as they see
that CrossFit has a
weakness right now and they
have you know they're
vulnerable I guess after
the games and everything
that's happened and the
company like this is an
opportunity that I think a
lot of other people from
the outside might be
looking to talk and and see
if people can just go in a
different direction and
this is finally the time
that they could do it I'm
like I wouldn't be
surprised to see something
come up that's competing
with the season of CrossFit
I don't know any of the
information that people are
getting fed and leaked left and right,
but.
I feel like the problem with Dubai,
like I do think bigger
athletes would go there.
And I mean, they have in the past,
it's a pretty good prize person.
And like they pay for the
athletes to get there, which is huge.
So people are totally going
to be willing to go,
but they've got to do
something about their
coverage if they want to
grow that competition.
That's terrible.
I really here's my ideas
fall on two sides I don't
think there's anybody
prepared to put together a
season to compete against
the CrossFit Games if there
was there would be
information about it by now
Because some of the biggest
complaints about CrossFit
are that we never know what
the season is until it's almost the open.
And then everybody's
scrambling to get ready and
under a new set of rules
and a new structure of the
season and blah, blah, blah.
If I was competing against them,
I would want to release all
that information early.
And be that,
that's part of my selling point.
I've heard you in all the complaints.
We're going to do something
about it by one.
Here's a season structure.
This is what we're going
with now and forever.
Let's go.
Two.
If you're going to compete
against the games,
you need to be fan friendly.
The one thing that the games
do not equate into their or
put into their equation is
the fans and the spectators.
And that's why they struggle
to get people at events.
Because they don't give two
shits about us.
You're talking about the games?
The games.
In what way?
So...
Cause I feel like the games are packed.
What do you, what do you mean?
Sorry.
So the CrossFit games
themselves are packed,
but nothing leading up to it is.
Okay.
And even at the games, like it's okay.
Let's take rogue.
Rogue does things so well.
Premium package for
streaming that they offer.
It's the second year they're doing it.
Now the games has never
attempted anything like
that to make that more
friendly for the fans.
right?
Two,
they have the legends competition
where they have all the
legends from the past come
and then they do a happy
hour meet and greet where
you can buy a ticket to go
in and hang out with Sam
Briggs and hang out with Kristen, uh,
Holte and hang out with
Kristen Clever and Becca
Voigt and all these people
and just mingle.
Um,
When you go to Rogue, it's more open.
The athletes are walking
through the stands.
They're hanging out.
It's more fun.
I think there's different pressures,
though.
For most of the day.
There are athletes that sure
would not want to come out
and hang out in the crowd.
But there are other athletes that would.
But at the games,
it's kind of shunned upon.
Then you look at the
quarterfinals or the semifinals.
That's where the most pressure is.
That's where the most drama is.
And it's never advertised.
And you don't even know
about where it is or what
it is going to be until two
weeks before the event.
You can't even get media
credentials to any of them
for up until two weeks before.
So how do you even get help
promoting stuff?
If you're not letting people promote it,
nobody knows about it.
Yeah.
I mean, they should, I mean,
they have the most followers,
like the games account and stuff,
and they should be allowing, you know,
different third parties to,
to promote their event and to, um,
share information on it and everything.
But that part, like, I mean,
the media side needs to
promote the game side more,
but it might not be their goal, I guess.
I think they're conflicted
with the affiliate and the
CrossFit health and then the sport.
Like,
it just... They need to let go of
their ego and let the
third-party media promote.
Mm-hmm.
they don't let us in on
anything until it's way too
too late so we can't even
help them I'm not saying I
get it they're a small team
they've said that enough I
get it and they have other
priorities right now than than media
there are there's the
barbell spin there's savan
there's uh be friendly
fitness there is us there
is all these people out
there who've been around
for a very long time that
would promote what's going
on yeah there are small
teams doing great things in
the space um but let us
know put out press releases
so that we can make
announcements for them
We're in charge of the sport
and they can focus more on
the CrossFit health and use
the money more for the
affiliate and what CrossFit
was actually made for and general health.
Roger Goodell went on Pat McAfee.
That is using an independent
third-party media company
to promote your sport
because Pat McAfee speaks
to an audience that the NFL
doesn't normally get to.
Or Roger Goodell doesn't normally get to.
Let's say that.
There are plenty of options
out there for media
coverage to just take
simple press releases from
HQ and to promote your sport.
I think that the spectators have been...
something has been lost in
the equation because if you
don't have spectators,
you don't have a sport.
If nobody's watching the sport goes away.
Well, if you don't have the athletes,
you don't have the sport, but well, true.
They're part of the equation,
but athletes are figured in to some.
And I would even say that
CrossFit probably puts more
weight on themselves than they,
and then they have in the
past and the athletes and
the fans and the outside media.
I mean, I've heard them say, like,
let the athletes do what they want.
If they don't want to participate,
play more where they come from.
There is a difference
between special athletes
that people want to come
watch and the also-rans.
And you can't just, like,
throw away the baby with the bathwater.
but there are a lot of
people within this space
that have a lot of experience and like,
we just need to bring
people together to figure
this all out because you
don't want someone
completely new that are
going to continue to make
mistakes or don't really know how to,
how to run things just
because they have money.
Um,
like you still want it to be run well
and have it be sustainable
because we haven't seen a
sustainable model that's worked.
Like the games loses money
almost every single year.
Um,
But there's people that have
great ideas in the space.
So it's just like bringing
people together that have
experiences on the business side,
on the marketing side, athletes,
and figure out what do we
want the season to look
like and how do we want to
go forward with it.
I just feel like people just
are on different pages.
But you and I have talked
about the premium stream from Rogue.
I don't know how many people bought that.
I bought it just to support.
It's a way of recouping
money for the stream.
We know streams are expensive.
It's a way to become more sustainable.
But CrossFit isn't even looking at that.
I don't know.
I was in Texas,
but I had bought the stream
just because I know I would
want to see if I was home,
so I wanted that to
continue the following year.
So I'm like,
I'm just going to buy it just
so that they know that this
is something that's
important and we want more of this.
But yeah.
Across that says,
Roger Goodell also doesn't
make official announcements
with vague pics of American literature.
That is a point.
Too many egos and too many
people that only care about
making money for themselves.
I do feel there is this
piece of it is that the
CrossFit Games were always like a club.
Right?
And as it attempted to grow,
people didn't want to let go of the club.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Clooney says,
do we know for sure the
game's actually lost money?
That one gets me every time.
It's the same as like legends.
Like when you go through these,
when you go through these entry fees,
ticket costs, sure.
I like,
I don't know the cost of the venues
and stuff, but it,
it would be very surprising to me.
And Patrick says, yes, but like,
Are you saying the CrossFit
game season loses money?
Because I can be on board with that.
But I find it hard to
believe that the games loses money.
Just that event.
Yeah.
I guess I don't know when they say that,
whether they mean the whole season.
Right.
And that is the cost of the
semifinals mostly,
which comes back to your
point of if that was online
and then they just focused
on generating revenue with the open,
the quarter slash semis,
and then putting on the
event for the sport side of things.
Um,
Yeah, I don't know.
But I don't know enough about.
I'm not saying they're rolling in the show,
but they get a huge title sponsor.
They get tons of vendors in there.
Ten, twenty grand a pop.
Like,
I think they're I think they're at
least breaking even personally.
It's one of those things
you'll never know.
I know.
It took Major League
Baseball Players
Association years and years
of fighting and strikes and
all that to get the owners
to open up their books and
prove to them if they were
losing or not losing money.
Right.
Right.
We only know what they want us to know.
So...
And I understand.
So Patrick is saying the
broadcast alone is to five
hundred K and the venue is
five hundred K. I get that.
But there is income as well
for the from the season.
And there's income that the vendor.
And we've seen the vendor.
Like we know what they pay.
Those are some big chunks of
change that vendors are paying.
And then we want paid judges so that,
you know, they could just.
Right.
I can see like that.
Income coming in.
Yeah.
For sure.
For five hundred dollars a piece.
So expensive.
Right.
Like.
I don't know.
Maybe they'll make money
with the documentary that
comes out next year.
All the DVD sales.
But theoretically,
we should get some news
soon from the season.
If you look at when the
rulebook was released last year,
it was early November, we said last time.
It was November, I think, last year.
I don't even know if we're
even close to that.
We haven't gotten any
information on the
third-party investigation, the rulebook,
what's happening next year,
these new leagues.
It's just kind of been...
Nothing except for this new
YouTube channel that's
launching with the CrossFit training.
So I guess we're just waiting right now.
No world rankings too.
Yeah,
no world rankings is a big indicator
that something's changing again.
And I saw some comments in
here like the bottom twenty
never factor in.
Well,
that's because we don't have the
forty fittest people there.
right right the format we
have does not bring the
forty fittest people to the
crossfit games correct it
brings people from all over
the world together to
compete and in that is some
of the fittest people in
the world but if you but
then you have the idea that
they're you know trying to
grow the sport and and
trying to be as inclusive in terms of
when someone comes from one region,
it starts pushing the next
person and hopefully, you know,
the sport grows outside of, you know,
where it began,
which is in the States and North America,
then in Europe, Australia is picking up.
Um, but yeah.
So I think those are things that like,
that's another thing that I would,
I would factor in if I was
creating my own league, um,
I was creating my own league
I would I wouldn't I don't
need it to be an olympic
sport I don't need to bring
people from every country
right you put the best of
the best on the field and
then you grow the sport
with people around and
people wanting to watch it
then eventually it will
grow throughout um throughout the world
So John says no world
ranking is a good thing.
They were trash,
but I like the idea of ranking.
Ranking is in every single sport.
You play college sports.
There's a ranking.
You play professional sports.
There's a ranking.
I don't like their system may not be good,
but there should be some
sort of ranking of the athletes.
Yeah.
And just figuring out what that looks like,
like,
but the idea was at least good to
start a world ranking of
some sort that goes beyond
just looking at the games.
So I think there's a lot
more to the season than the games.
It's just what comp should
we be including?
How many years and all of
that need to get figured out.
But the concept of having that is good.
Yeah.
And being able to say, you know,
you're ranked right now in the world.
Seventeenth or whatever it is.
Can help athletes in terms of.
Sponsorships and just.
It does make it more professional.
And it's.
I think it's important to
look outside of the games.
You can't just be like, oh, this,
the games is this.
And that's,
that's your ranking for the full year.
Like there's so much more than the games.
Because there's some people in the games,
like you said, that are ranked higher.
But.
I think the spin poll is
better than the world rankings, though.
Yeah, for sure.
And I think that if that was
refined and defined as right now,
who do you think are the top people?
You could do a top-forty ranking.
Because I think right now it's like,
who do you think will make
it to the games?
Because as we got closer,
our choices narrowed to those eligible.
So, but I think that,
I think the spin poll is
awesome and gives a ranking, um,
that's more accurate than
the world rankings.
Um, it doesn't need to be a fancy formula.
I mean, college football is used to, uh,
a media poll forever.
They still use it today.
College football, college basketball, um,
But that way you could say, well,
I'm the eighth ranked
person in the world or I'm the... I mean,
I feel like that's just the
leaderboard though.
There are people that are
voting that it's just
opinion base and just who
they know better.
And sometimes they're
putting people that they
don't know as well.
So you would need to maybe
change up and have... I
don't know if you have different people,
but
I do see what Patrick is
saying in terms of there
are a lot of biases in certain.
But that is an argument in
college football for a hundred years.
Yeah.
Right.
You just know that it exists.
I complain all the time that
Penn State gets knocked.
They had a bye week and lost
a place in the ranking and
they couldn't win or lose that week.
And yet they still lost a
spot in the ranking.
I bitch about the opinions all the time.
it's better than well they
went team last year so none
nothing they did even
counts or like those are
just stupid rules to this
world ranking formula um so
yeah it has biases but it's
better than the thing they
put together for a world
ranking but theirs is objective
Like, it's just like,
this is your openness.
Like there's nothing that you can like,
it's, there's no,
there's no opinion base.
It's just factual.
So I don't mind that either.
Right.
I think there should be
certain competitions that
you can accumulate points
and it goes into this world.
These are the competitions
that count towards worldwide rankings.
Sure,
but you can't make the games count
thirty times because
there's people that aren't
getting in who are fitter
than the fortieth person
that got in and deserve to
be ahead of them on this ranking.
It just should be one point
just like everything else.
I still think there's an
increase in the value there
versus some of the other ones for sure,
but maybe not as much.
So John Young is poking the
bear on a bad night for me.
Me and friend are usually
within three to five people
in literally everything.
He likes Europe more than I
like America more,
but it's better than
picking Saxon to win.
I never freaking pick Saxon to win.
I said he would have a good semifinal.
That was it.
my,
my picks for are usually pretty good
for the spin pole.
I would say that Lex and I's
picks are often very good as well.
Pretty accurate.
Um, but yeah, uh,
I, so anyway,
I do think there should be a
world ranking and if you
want to come up with a formula,
I'm fine with it.
But just because Annie had a
baby last year,
doesn't mean she lost all
of her fitness and doesn't belong in it.
Like there's gotta be a way
to factor those people in.
That's all.
Um, or because Noah went team,
he lost all his fitness and
he's not one of the fifty
fittest people in the world.
Because Noah is still one of
the fifty fittest people in the world.
That's all.
So anyway, I'm off that soapbox.
So we've come to the
conclusion that really we
don't think there's anybody
out there that could really
have a competing league to
go up against CrossFit at this point.
One, we're way too late in the season.
If you're starting from scratch,
you need to get your shit together quick.
yeah I mean I feel like
you'd have to piggyback off
of the game season use the
open but then you're
shooting yourself in the
foot with a qualifier entry
fees yeah man there's so
many comments coming in I
can't hardly even keep up with them um
No, we should not include Rich.
If you're retired, you're retired.
If he's going to go bike, he can go bike.
I get what he's saying
because I do feel like it's hard.
Do we think Noah's super fit?
Yeah,
but I feel like if you aren't going
to do individual,
it's even tough to truly rank you.
If you've moved on to team... Yeah.
It just seems so last minute
that we're getting the information.
Right.
Yeah.
So if we found out Noah was
going to come back into
individual this year.
He shouldn't start at a
hundred and fiftieth.
Agree.
If he decides he's going individual.
Right.
And again, I'm okay with the formula,
but just don't ignore some
of the obvious things.
Yes.
That's all.
Yeah.
Well, I think that's it for tonight.
That's enough.
I need to go cry in my chocolate milk.
Watch the reruns of the Hail Mary.
And you know, because I'm a Bears fan,
you know the minute I turn on YouTube,
it's going to be every
YouTube video about the end of that game.
That's what's going to come
up in my algorithm.
for the next forty eight
hours man three seconds one
throw anyway alright guys
don't forget to like and
subscribe to the channel um
and man tomorrow is going
to be a fun episode of the
behind the scenes of masters
CrossFit Games.
If you missed the trailer earlier,
I'll put it out on Instagram tonight.
And you can see just little
clips of the three people that popped,
plus Will Morad and Jamie
Latimer and Bronislaw
Linkwitz and Jason Grubb.
Bron talking about shaving
his head to be faster on the run.
And then it didn't work.
That still makes me laugh
every time I hear it.
All those clips are much
more extended in the behind the scenes.
And I think it's probably
the best episode so far.
So with that, guys,
make sure you check that
out tomorrow at twelve thirty.
I'll be in the chat as it goes live.
If you want to comment on
anything and kind of chat about that.
Anything else that you think
we need to know about world
rankings or a new CrossFit game season?
Throw that in the comments.
And with that,
we will see everybody next time on.
Sunday, Sunday,
Sunday night CrossFit talk.
